Building Tranquility in Your Home

You don’t have to put a huge amount of effort into making you home feel more balanced and harmonic. Simple changes and additions can boost your home’s “chi” or energy, and you’ll feel all the better for it.

There are lots of decorating tips that you can start using right away to make your home more tranquil. From Feng Shui to Zen décor, there is much available that can leave you feeling as relaxed as ever. Suddenly, that argument you had with your spouse or your best friend, doesn’t matter as much, when you step inside your front door.

Negative energy can add stress to your life and your home is a reflection of you. So if your home is cluttered and unorganized, it very well may bleed over into your everyday tasks as well and can leave you feeling hassled and uncomfortable.

Buddha statues are a great way to furnish your home with art that is both calming to look at and peaceful to your psyche. Buddha, said to be the only human to achieve “nirvana” or heaven on Earth, is the symbol of all that is good, pure and serene in this world.

And they not only look great in your home, but in your outdoor areas as well. If you love being out in your garden or on your deck, Buddha statues will further add to your happiness. They may even turn out to be a great conversation piece at your next weekend barbeque!

To further enhance your home surroundings, incorporate pieces of wall art into your decorating plans. This can include that gorgeous wall sculpture you’ve been admiring, or the matching wall sconces you saw in the magazine. Mirrors with brilliantly colored beads and artistic frames, wall clocks that leave you in envy and shelving full of your favorite cherubs and angelic statues are all ways to build tranquility in your home.

You could potentially feel tranquil in your home the same day. Survey your home décor and see where you could make changes. Do you have room for a small water fountain? Or a large floor vase with Egyptian symbols and a floor lamp with the shade that matches your comforter?  Will Buddha fit in with your decorating scheme or do you need to make other changes? These are all important things to consider when deciding to change the “mood” in your home. Once you have everything in its place, get ready for some real rest and relaxation  - right in the comforts of your own home.
